Photos of Brenda Chemutai, a 19-year-old mother of a four-year-old child, have resurfaced online, sparking a wave of conversation about her life in custody and the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to information circulating about the case, Brenda was arrested in 2024 alongside a friend over allegations of transporting bhang.

The two were reportedly travelling in a vehicle said to have been associated with the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) from Kakamega County when they were arrested.

Sources claim that Brenda's friend managed to escape after the arrest, leaving the young woman to face the legal process on her own.

Brenda, who hailed from Chepkolon village in Ainamoi, Kericho County, was reportedly detained as she continued to pursue her case through the courts.
