Kenyans are expressing concern after the family of Phyllis Wachira, who is suffering from a serious tumour on her face, came out to speak about the minimal support they received from Dan Wema, who describes himself as a philanthropist and pastor.
According to Phyllis’ brother, Dan Wema gave the family only KSh 26,000, despite Kenyans reportedly contributing millions towards her treatment, and also bought them milk and yoghurt.
He claims Dan Wema has not offered any other assistance.
The family further says they were never informed how much money had been raised from Kenyans of goodwill to help Phyllis seek treatment in India.
"Alitupea 26K pekee na akatufanyia shopping ya maziwa na yoghurt, hakutuambia ni pesa ngapi Wakenya wametoa. Dada yangu bado ni mgonjwa kwa nyumba!”
Phyllis is reportedly still at home without receiving the treatment the funds were intended to support, raising questions among Kenyans about how the money raised for her treatment was handled
