Maurice Ogeta Reveals How Makau Disclosed Raila's Sitting Position During Deadly Demos In Pipeline Before Death

Maurice Ogeta has expressed deep resentment toward Professor Makau Mutua, stating that he does not know if he will ever forgive him for allegedly compromising the security details of the late opposition leader, Raila Odinga, during political protests.

Ogeta claimed that during the highly charged 2023 Azimio anti-government protests, his security team had received reliable intelligence about planned ambushes and was actively strategizing on how to maneuver the convoy to safety.

Without the security team's knowledge, Professor Makau Mutua, who was riding inside Raila Odinga’s vehicle, began livestreaming and recording video from inside the car.

Ogeta recounted his shock when he started receiving phone calls from contacts as far away as the United States and South Africa, warning him that their exact location, internal conversations, and coordination tactics were being broadcast to the public in real-time. When he turned around in the vehicle, he discovered Mutua was the one broadcasting.

Ogeta described the livestream as a "dangerous blunder" that exposed sensitive details to both friends and enemies, heavily contributing to the security lapses that occurred around that time. Ogeta was subsequently abducted by state operatives shortly after those protests, an ordeal he feels was exacerbated by insiders failing to protect sensitive route and security planning.
